ˇ As you can see it has a history box. The history box records all of your math and arithmetic calculations. To conserve space, all of the other features, such as using fractions or formulas, doing business and financial calculations, using stock and bond formulas, and clicking on links to your favorite web sites, are run from separate small windows. You open the windows only when you need them. Each window, when temporarily not in use, can be collapsed, so that only its name and menus show; it then occupies only a sliver of your screen. Pictures of all these windows can be seen by clicking on the links listed in the Site Contents panel on the left. Even though many calculations are carried out in separate windows, the history box can keep track of everything, as the photo of the basic calculator shows. The data input for each financial, investment and business calculation is labeled and listed in the history box. You can add text to the history box, such as descriptions of the business and financial transactions to which the calculations relate. And please notice that, while you're doing basic calculations, whole numbers and decimals line up on either side of a common fixed decimal point. Just like you learned in school. These are other features that distinguish It Calculates and More from other calculators. Your work can be printed, saved, loaded later, and integrated into other programs, business and financial reports, documents and files. When copied to other programs, all of the data can be manipulated in many ways, such as shown in different fonts. There are even separate windows in which all of your stock calculations and mutual fund information relating to specific stocks and mutual funds can be recorded. If you do not care whether the history box shows, you can reduce the size of the basic calculator.
The calculator takes up much less space but is still fully functional. All of It Calculates and More's math, investment and other features are still available through the menus. The history box will still be recording your calculations, you just can't see them. When you enlarge the calculator they will be there. The size of the calculator can always be reduced, with one click, to a really small size to the size of a button.
The math calculations, the menus and the program's other features are still only one click away, and without hunting for anything elsewhere. u And now, a little more about the simple list windows.
ˇ A unique It Calculates and More feature allows you to easily make and save lists of files and programs spanning different directories. Although this is a powerful feature, any file or program in one of your lists can then be run from small, simple collapsible windows. You can run all of your programs and files from these simple lists without having to create new folders. You don't have to hunt for a program or a file in Explorer, or the task bar, or the Start Menu. You don't even have to create copies of files or shortcuts to files, or "drag and drop" files from one place on your screen to another. You don't need to crowd your screen with icons. Related files can be saved in, and then run from, many different lists without creating new folders. For example, you can keep a song with other songs in the same style in one list, and then keep the same song in another list along with files containing news articles about the performing group and files that show pictures of and have stories about the group's members. You quickly decide what is in each list. Notice, from the picture of the Sample List above, some of the many types of files that can be combined into a list. You can keep the lists on top of all of your other windows if you wish. You can also collapse the lists or make them transparent, or both. You can have up to four lists open at one time. The lists can be put anywhere on the screen and, if you wish, they will remember their positions, even after the program is closed. ˇ From within It Calculates and More you can call up ten of your favorite websites with just a click. This feature makes the calculator a valuable tool that fits in with your web browser. This feature lets you escape from the your browser's favorites lists or bookmarks, which inevitably, like ours, will contain dozens and dozens or perhaps hundreds of website names in very small print. And, of course, the websites window is collapsible to a sliver.
ˇ Also pictured are It Calculates and More small windows where you can store and access names, addresses, phone numbers, reminders, important financial, investment and business information and notes containing anything you want to have at your fingertips, such as the amounts of your mortgage and car payments or notes of recent conversations or copies of text messages that you use repeatedly to insert in communications to friends and business contacts. ˇ You can easily print out the complete contents of folders. You can also print out partial folder contents (such as only a folder's .MP3 music files.) The size of each file can also be listed. ˇ It Calculates and More and Relaxing with Cragmont have a relax mode, hypnotizing you with four windows in which balls and a square bounce, with and without gravity, and a rectangle floats around the screen displaying different messages. You can watch all of the windows or any combination of them.
The calculator
has a timer. And, you can tell it when you want to take a break and it
will sound an alarm and show you a message to remind you to do so.
